THIS year’s observance of “Undas” or All Saint’s Day and All Souls' Day in Davao region has been generally peaceful with no untoward incidents attributed to the full packed security forces deployed on the ground to secure all the cemeteries.

Police Chief Inspector Jason Baria, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao said that the regional headquarter has not recorded any crime incident within the cemeteries in the region.

Baria attributed the successful security coverage to all responsible and disciplined Dabawenyos, the force multipliers who assisted the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in the maintenance of peace and order in their areas of responsibility as well as the dedicated public servants.

“The PNP maintain its operation on illegal drugs, manhunt Charlie or wanted persons and other special laws and local ordinance in cities and municipalities of the region,” he said.

PRO-Davao regional director Police Chief Superintendent Marcelo Morales assured the public of their safety and security.

He said that sufficient number of policemen were deployed in private and public cemeteries, public thoroughfares and other vital installations in the region to give security and assistance to the public.

Expecting an influx of visitors, Morales directed all his commanders to intensify security operations and public safety plans during All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

Aside from the PNP deployed personnel, thousands of volunteers and civic organizations served as force multipliers in assisting and maintaining orderliness in the said areas.
