Coast Guard personnel deployed in Zamboanga beaches

THE Zamboanga Coast Guard Station (ZCGS) has deployed personnel to ensure the safety of people in the beaches of Zamboanga City.

Lieutenant Commander Noriel Ramos, ZCGS commander, deployed personnel as residents, especially visitors, are expected to flock to the beaches for family gathering following the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

He has ordered his personnel to conduct patrols on beaches to ensure the protection of the holiday vacationers and picnickers.

Ramos added that they were also tasked to remind the public of their safety.

“We need to remind the public, the parents particularly to watch over their children while having picnic on the beach. We do not want anything to happen to them, especially to the kids,” Ramos said.

He also advised the public to report to the concerned authorities should they happened to noticed presence of people acting suspiciously in beaches.

The commander said the deployment of ZCGS personnel in beaches is part of the security measures they adopted in line with the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
