Metro anti-drugs drive results to 10 arrests

TEN persons were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Metro Cebu during the weekend.

One of the suspects was identified as Angie Alburo, a 28-year-old resident of Barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion. According to the Mandaue City Police Office, she is a high-value target.

She was caught at dawn on Sunday, Nov. 4, at a checkpoint on A. Soriano Ave. in Barangay Centro, Mandaue City.

Centro Police Station Chief Insp. Aldrin Villacampa said Alburo was on board a motorcycle for hire when it was flagged down. She allegedly tried to throw the drugs in her possession, but police seized three small packs of suspected shabu from her.

Police learned that Alburo was just released from the Cebu City Jail this month after she was arrested for selling drugs in Barangay Pulangbato in 2015.

She was on her way to Lapu-Lapu City from Cebu City when she was arrested.

Rasjag Quidlat, a 20-year-old from Las Piñas City, and his 26-year-old companion, Giorlie Moradas from Cadiz, Negros Occidental, were also arrested at the checkpoint. They were on board a cab.

Police seized two packs of suspected shabu from each of them. They are still looking into the two suspects’ background.

Also arrested on board a cab was Prince Val Tunacao, a 30-year-old resident of Barangay Looc, Mandaue City. He allegedly yielded two packs of suspected shabu.

The Talamban Police Station arrested Leinita Famador past 6 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, after they seized 3 packs of suspected shabu in her house in Barangay Pit-os during a buy-bust operation.

Julieto Pilipino was caught by the Guadalupe police and yielded P23,000 worth of shabu.

On Saturday, Nov. 3, Talisay City police nabbed Joradin Diaz and Don Anthony Gapansin in a buy-bust operation.

They also arrested Jimmy Basanes and Rogelio Belen selling drugs after concerned citizens reported the two men’s activities. (Fe Marie D. Dumaboc, SuperBalita correspondent, & KAL)
