More than P1.2M worth of drugs seized in 4 days

AN ESTIMATED P1,268,500 worth of illegal drugs was seized in separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Negros Occidental from October 31 to November 3.

In Bacolod City, Hervon Aguilar, Vengie and Virginia Bernasol of Barangay 19; Johnson Salazar of Barangay Handumanan; and Wennie Casas of Barangay Villamonte were arrested in a drug bust at Barangay 19 on October 31.

The police recovered 12 sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 10 grams worth P420,000, the P1,000 marked money, coin purse, bag, and .38 caliber revolver loaded with six live ammunition.

Police records showed that Aguilar allegedly attempted to shoot the operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) using his .38 caliber revolver to escape. This prompted the police to fire at him.

Aguilar sustained a lone gunshot wound in his right leg and was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

In a separate operation, Paul Manzan, 40, of Barangay 2 was collared in a drug bust in the said village on the same day, which led to the confiscation of five sachets of suspected shabu, and the P500 marked money.

Also arrested in Bacolod on November 1 was Jelly Supresencia, 28, of Barangay 27 which led to the confiscation of eight sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P15,000, and a tooter in a drug raid in the said village.

Still in the same city, Alexander Guevarra was arrested at Barangay 35 on November 3 after he allegedly yielded eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing 15 grams worth P180,000, and the P1,000 marked money.

Personnel of Police Station 8 also conducted a drug bust against Carlito Deriada, 47, of Barangay Singcang-Airport which led to a confiscation of 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing seven grams worth P85,000, drug paraphernalia, the P500 marked money and P200 in cash.

In Kabankalan City, Jireh Boaquiña, 23, and street-level target Carina Lanang, 33, both residents of Bacolod City were arrested in a buy-bust at Barangay 6 on October 31, along with street-level targets Michael Pame, 32, of Murcia town; Denise Michael Berzuela, 25, of Barangay 6; Joebert Dela Cruz, 36, of Barangay Tampalon; and Rubelyn Abanero, 39, of Barangay Hilamonan.

Police seized from them 12 sachets of suspected shabu worth P360,000, cigarette box, P1,000 marked money, P500 in cash, pouch, several suspected marijuana stems, aluminum foil, and lighter.

Boaquiña availed of plea bargaining for drug charges and served his sentence, police records showed.

In San Carlos City, drug surrenderer and high-value target Carl Ray Benito, 25, of Barangay 2 was arrested at Barangay 3 on November 2 for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs.

Police seized from Benito four sachets of suspected shabu weighing eight grams worth P96,000, coin purse, cellular phone, motorcycle, and the P1,100 marked money.

In San Carlos City, Jesselito Delubio, 52; Jesselito Delubio Jr., 29; and John Rey Depamaylo, 29, all residents of Barangay Rizal; and Jeaze May Geralla, 29, of Barangay 3 were arrested on November 3, which resulted to a recovery of nine sachets of suspected shabu worth P60,000, drug paraphernalia, the P1,000 marked money, and a cellular phone.

In Calatrava town, Dexter Cano, 22, of Barangay San Benito was arrested in a drug bust in the said village on November 1.

He is a high-value target and an alleged member of Russel Bacus drug group, police records showed.

Police recovered from Cano three sachets of suspected shabu weighing 4.7 grams worth P47,000, drug paraphernalia, P1,000 marked money, and a homemade .45 caliber with magazine loaded with two live ammunition.

Cano allegedly attempted to draw his firearm but the police were able to subdue him, police records showed.

In Cadiz City, newly-identified drug personality Abdon Ceballos, 43, of Barangay Zone 3 was arrested in Barangay Tinampa-an on October 31 which resulted to a recovery of six sachets of suspected shabu worth P5,000, and the P500 marked mone.

In Bago City, John Carias, 32, was arrested at Barangay Atipuluan, Bago City on November 1 after he allegedly yielded four sachets of suspected shabu, the P400 marked money, P302 in cash, and a cellular phone. He is a top nine drug personality of Bago City Police Station.

In Sipalay City, newly-identified drug personality Welgeon Pequiz, 30, of Barangay Nabulao was arrested in the said village on November 3 after police confiscated from him three sachets of suspected shabu and the P500 marked money.

In Silay City, seven persons, including four minors, all residents of Bacolod City were arrested in a resort at Barangay Patag on November 3 after they were allegedly caught holding a “pot session.”
