Cebu still richest province

CEBU remains the richest province in terms of assets, according to the 2017 annual financial report on local government units released by the Commission on Audit.

Cebu Province's total assets reached P34.14 billion as of end-2017.

The 10 richest provinces are:

1) Cebu P34.14 billion

2) Compostela Valley P19 billion

3) Batangas P15.6 billion

4) Rizal P14 billion

5) Negros Occidental P12.9 billion

6) Zambales P10.4 billion

7) Bulacan P10.4 billion

8) Palawan P10.1 billion

9) Iloilo P10 billion

10) Pampanga P9.5 billion.

Cebu City, meanwhile, is the 4th richest city with total assets valued at P33.9 billion.

The city, however, also ranked first in terms of liabilities at P24.8 billion.

The richest city was Makati with total assets worth P196.5 billion.

Here are the top 10 cities:

2) Quezon P68.3 billion

3) Manila P38.7 billion

4) Cebu P33.9 billion

5) Pasig P33.7 billion

6) Taguig P19.6 billion

7) Caloocan P17.0 billion

8) Pasay P16.7 billion

9) Davao P13.1 billion

10) Calamba P12.4 billion
