Suspect's ID in dog shooting unknown

AUTHORITIES are still clueless on the identity of the suspect who allegedly shot a dog on Friday afternoon, November 2, at Sta. Ana Pier in Davao City.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Police Senior Inspector Catherine dela Rey said on Monday, November 5, that the owner of the dog did not file a formal complaint but the Sta. Ana Police Station went to the area to record the incident.

“There is no spot report. The identity of the suspect is still unknown,” Dela Rey said.

The dog, named “Dezo”, was rescued by authorities after it was found unable to walk and with apparent blood on its leg that was later found to have been caused by a gunshot.

The dog was taken to a veterinary clinic for medical treatment and is currently recovering. Owners of the dog are calling for justice.
