WHILE the fabled Team Alam Na and title-hungry Romuls Power are seeking to arrange a rematch of their so-called “unfinished business” from last season’s rivalry, Team Daabay and the equally-dangerous Team Doc Neri may yet to spoil the much anticipated meeting in the final.
And this scenario only adds fire to the exciting semifinal round of the 2018 Green CdeO Eagles 2nd President’s Cup basketball tournament on Thursday night, Nov. 8 at the SPC covered court in Cagayan de Oro.
“Kulbahinam ang semifinal matches kay mga batan-on ang kontra delikado ma-ilok ang Team Alam Na ug Romuls Power sa crossover round,” said tournament games barker Roberto “Dongcabs” Caballero.
Last conference’s finalists Team Alam Na and Romulz Power both made it to the big 4 round at the expense of the Eagles Aspirants (win by forfeiture) and Team Saraus (92-72), respectively.
Against Team Doc Neri in the knockout semis round, the multi-titled Team Alam Na of team managers Anjun Gomez and Yogi Hembrador will have the rejuvenated Boning Biongcog, a former Oro basketball junior MVP, as their biggest headache.
While Romuls Power will have the acid test from the youthful side of Team Daabay intensified by the likes of Shian Galanida, Tarotoy Remoto, Arvin Monterona, Anderson Mauricio and Ed Gustilo who are mostly still in their early 30s.
