Zamboanga airport receives P3.6-M luggage carts

THE City Government of Zamboanga has donated 200 luggage carts worth P3.6 million at the Zamboanga International Airport (ZIA).

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar led the turnover on Monday to ZIA Manager Antonio Alfonso. The mayor was accompanied by other city government officials.

Councilor Cesar Jimenez, city council’s majority floor leader, said the luggage carts costs P18,000 since these are made of aluminum alloy with a 250-kilogram capacity each and equipped with automatic rigs.

Jimenez assured that the purchase of the luggage carts is in accordance with the specifications and were properly inspected.

“This is our contribution to ensure the Zamboanga International Airport will be able to respond to the needs of air passengers in as far as carrying their baggage,” Salazar said.

The ZIA is the third busiest airport here in Mindanao after the cities of Davao and Cagayan de Oro. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
