Legislative approves P4-B budget for Negros Occidental

THE Provincial Board (PB) of Negros Occidental has unanimously approved the 2019 annual budget of the Provincial Government amounting to P4 billion on Wednesday, November 7.

Next year’s budget is P400 million higher compared to the budget in 2018.

The approval was confirmed by Second District Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr., who chairs the PB committee on appropriations, budget, finance, ways, and means during their regular session.

The 2019 budget will be sourced from the Internal Revenue Allotment amounting to P3.340 billion; tax revenue, P87.350 million; non-tax revenue, P81.538 million; receipts from hospital operations, P308.630 million and receipts from the economic enterprise, P184.399 million.

Meanwhile, the PB also approved Supplemental Budget No. 11 amounting to P36.135 million.

An estimated P12 million will be utilized for the construction of the building and improvement of the Land Transportation regional and provincial offices to be located in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
