THE name Tony Labrusca surely rings a bell! Well, there is really a reason why a lot of people, including men, have been taking about him these days. In fact, he could be the most talked about personality on social media and several gatherings right now.
When the trailer of his upcoming digital movie with Angel Aquino was released, it immediately gathered six million hits in just a matter of 24 hours. What everyone could exclaim was about the passion the two shared onscreen.
In the original film “Glorious,” which will be shown exclusively on the online platform iWanTV this month, Angel plays the role of a 50-year-old woman who fell in love with Tony, a young man who is three decades younger than her. The May-December affair is somehow seen by some as a taboo until now. They have probably failed to recognize that there is nothing wrong with it for as long as both of them truly love each other.
Along with the appreciation of many netizens of how the love scenes were done in the film, their curiosity about the veteran actress’ leading man also rose. Who is this good-looking guy passionately kissing Angel on “Gorgeous?” Here are some interesting facts about him:
1. Tony is 23 years old. He was born on August 7, 1995 in Houston, Texas in the US. However, he moved to Canada when he was nine years old.
2. His parents are celebrities as well. Tony is the son of former “That’s Entertainment” star Boom Lubrasca and former Kulay band singer Angel Jones. (Yes, his mom is also an Angel.)
3. He was the guy in the McDonald’s ad in 2016. In the commercial “Tuloy Pa Rin,” he was the one who broke the heart of Kapamilya actress Elise Joson.
4. He competed for the Kapamilya Network’s reality TV show “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” in 2016. Tony showed off his singing talent in the tilt but failed to make it to top 5.
5. He was the third-wheel of Kathryn Bernard and Daniel Padilla in the ABS-CBN fantserye “La Luna Sangre” in 2017.
6. He already starred in indie films. Tony’s acting talent has already been put to test when he did projects which were official entries to two local film festivals for independent films. In “ML”, he acted side by side with multi-awarded actor Eddie Garcia, while in “Double Twisting Double Back,” he got the lead role of a gymnast.
7. He is a Star Magic talent. Tony has been among the stars being handled by the Kapamilya Network’s talent arm since 2016.
8. He is already an award-winning actor. Despite being a newbie (relatively new, I must say) in the Philippine showbiz industry, Tony has already proven that he can really act. In the 2017 PMPC Awards for TV, he won as the Best New Male TV Personality.
9. His singing talent has been recognized, too. In the 2018 MOR Pinoy Music Awards, he was nominated as Best New Artist for the song “Tanging Ikaw.”
10. He is Desiree del Valle’s stepson. The famous actress, who rose to fame for her role in the long-running youth-oriented show “Tabing Ilog,” and Tony's dad got married in January this year.
