Cebuano takes lead in NBT Open Day 2

CEBUANO bowler John Galindo poured in 1,356 points to lead all bowlers after Day 2 of the Open Masters’ qualifying round of the NBT Open Tenpin Bowling Championships 2018 at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center on Wednesday night, Nov. 7.

The 12-handicapper Galindo of Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) knocked down 725 and 631 pinfalls in the first two sets for a 1,356.

Manny Bueno, a 32-handicapper, of Sugarbowl Tenpin Association Inc. (STBAI) is at second place with 1,330 from rounds of 720 and 610. He is followed by Brian Sy and Roger Asumbrado with a total of 1,265 each.

Tessie Dante of STBAI led the female bowlers with a score of 1,211 from rounds of 636 and 575 followed by Emy Osada of Cetba with 1,201 and Inday Aguilar of Bowling Tenpin Association (BTA).

Bueno is leading in the qualifying round for the Seniors Masters, which is for the 50 years old and above players. He is followed by Ging Francisco with 1,275.

Sylvia Tesch, a 41-handicapper of STBAI, paced the female bowlers in the Senior Masters qualifying with a total score of 1,254 from sets of 660 and 594.

Marissa Campita and Tessie Dante are at second and third spots with 1,220 and 1,211, respectively.

The Finals for the Seniors Masters will be on Saturday, while the Open Masters is set on Sunday. The Top 40 in the qualifying rounds will play in the Finals.

The champion in Open Masters will win P80,000 cash prize and the Seniors Masters champion will earn P40,000. (RSC)
