THE Shakey’s Pizza Parlor will stage a bigger run this year, dubbed the Shakey’s Fast at 40: Fun Run, as part of the company’s 40th year anniversary on Dec. 9 at the SM City Cebu.
The Shakey’s Group Cebu first staged a fun run last year with the lone 5-kilometer category. This time, the event has expanded to four categories—the men’s and women’s 15K, 7K, Family 3K and the 100-meter Kiddie Dash.
The second edition of the fun run was officially launched at the Shakey’s Pizza Parlor in F. Cabahug, Brgy. Mabolo on Thursday, Nov. 8.
Race director Kenneth Casquejo said they’re hoping to draw about 1,000 runners. Parts of the proceeds of the will go to the Scholars of Arts Council Cebu Foundation Inc.
The managing director of Shakey’s Group Cebu Allen Arvin Tan said that they want to make running as the signature sport event for the company.
“Running emphasizes our business since it focuses on the family or group category of the sport,” he said.
Both the 15K and 7K categories will be competitive and are open to all runners. The Top 3 in the two categories will receive cash prizes. The finishers in the 15K will get a medal while shirt for the 7K finishers. (RSC)
