ONE of the fast-rising young literary groups making its mark in Cebu is turning three this Nov. 10 with an event at Handuraw Pizza Mango Square that will launch a series of spoken word poetry filmed by the International Academy of Film and Television.
The Almost Poets Society (APS), who were prominently featured during the recent Bisaya Music Festival, calls themselves a motley crew of extroverts, introverts, writers, and readers united by their love of poetry. Their name is a nod to a beloved movie, and “almost,” denoting near-perfection or a state of incompleteness, propels them to move forward in constant improvement, struggle, and need to create, transform and transcend.
