LAPU-LAPU City’s tourism industry is expected to benefit from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority’s (MCIAA) International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification.

MCIAA General Manager Steve Dicdican received the certification last Oct. 25 after meeting requirements for the quality management system and passed the accreditation process for government quality management committee.

The certification is expected to make the internal processes of the MCIAA more efficient.

This is also why Lapu-Lapu City Tourism Officer Hembler Mendoza believes they will reach their target of 11.7 million local and foreign tourists. Mendoza said that 81 hotels in Lapu-Lapu City are already 90 percent booked.

He said the certification has helped the city because they have received good feedback from passengers and tourists about the improved services of the airport. (FROM FMD OF SUPERBALITA CEBU)
