AN EIGHT-MEMBER Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) contingent is competing in the ongoing 10th Cetba-NBT Open Tenpin Bowling Championship 2018 in Cebu City.
Datba is bannered by Jesrael Rule, Ulene Rule, Absalon Serrano, Jr., Art Galendez, James Young, Mark Li, Paul Palacio and Manny Nierra.
Datba president Rameses Tancontian said Davao City's pintopplers have a strong chance in winning the title since Datba member Ian Neil Ancheta clinched the championship trophy three years ago.
Jesrael also re-echoed Datba chief's prediction, citing the vast experiences of Datba players. He was the Kadayawan Open champion last August while Serrano recently won a monthly tournament title.
Nierra and James Young were gold medalists in Penang, Malaysia Open while Galendez and Paul Palacio were former champions and Ulene finished fourth in the Imus Open last August.
“Mga init ang mga kamot ani karon (These bowlers' hands are hot),” Jesrael, who is seeing action in Cebu for the second time, told SunStar Davao in a Facebook interview.
The Cebu bowlfest features the open and seniors divisions, thus, giving more opportunities for Dabawenyos to shine. (MLSA)
