CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Some 197 police recruits of the Police Regional Office Central Luzon took their oath of office here on Thursday.

Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus, PRO-Central Luzon director, administered the oath of office of the recruits following their presentation by Senior Superintendent Narvin Mangune, Chief of the Regional Police Personnel and Human Resource Development Division (RPHRDD). Former PNP Chief and BuCor Director Ronald dela Rosa graced the oath-taking ceremony.

Of the 197 new police recruits, 166 are males and 31 are females. All were given the rank of Police Officer 1 (PO1).

The new police personnel were chosen after a stringent screening process conducted by the Regional Screening Committee on Recruitment headed by Police Chief Superintendent Leonardo Cesneros, PRO Deputy Regional Director for Administration.

After their oath-taking ceremony, the new police recruits will further undergo a one-year training at the Regional Training School III in Magalang, Pampanga.

“Never accept bribes or abuse your power because we do not want corrupt police officers. The PNP does not condone policemen and policewomen who are corrupt, abusive and lazy,” Dela Rosa told the police recruits.

Dela Rosa also advised the young policemen and policewomen to always do what is right and work with their heart and they will never fail. (Ric Sapnu)
