THE Sports Amusement and Recreation Corporation (SparCorp) is holding regular Open Play for football, volleyball and Frisbee enthusiasts at the Azuela Cove in Lanang, Davao City.
SparCorp's Buboy Arrieta, in a Facebook interview, said the Open Play is being held every Friday.
“Bisag kinsa pwede muapil. Bayad lang P50. First register, first to play from 7 p.m. onward. Simultaneous na with football open play from 6 to 8 p.m. ug Frisbee 8 to 10 p.m. (This this open to the public, whoever wants to play is welcome. Registration fee is P50. The first to register gets to play first from 7 p.m. onward. It is simultaneous with football open play from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and freesbie at 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.).”
He observed that more mature enthusiasts have been playing since the activity was launched a month ago. It only took a break during the holidays last week.
“The idea is to have an avenue for those interested to have exercise after work and class, encouraging individuals or groups to bond through exercise at least every weekend,” he said.
Food and drinks are available for sale at the venue for those who want to hang out after the games.
When the Open Play becomes a hit, Arrieta said they will introduce midweek games. Only Frisbee is also being played Wednesday evenings.
