The University of San Carlos will get a chance to equal the University of San Jose-Recoletos' record after advancing to the final of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi)
USC and USJ-R drew, 1-1, Sunday, November 11 at the Cebu City Sports Center with the Kicking Jaguars scoring a 90th-minute equalizer courtesy of Cyrus Jumawan.
Both teams have 12 points, but USC advances to the final owing to a stronger goal difference at "0," while USJ-R is at -1.
The University of the Visayas, which also has 11 points was playing the University of Southern Philippines Foundation at press time. UV only needs a draw to advance, while USPF needs a win to make it to their fourth straight final.
The Cesafi football competition is a double-round robin affair with the top two teams advancing to the championship match on Nov. 18. (ML)
