THE Cebu City Sharks failed to recover from a slow second quarter as they fell short to the San Juan Knights, 71-62, at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan, Metro Manila on Saturday night, Nov. 10.

The Ethyl Casino Alcohol-backed Sharks found themselves down by double digits, 43-27, at the half after the Knights put on a scoring tear with 28 points in the second quarter.

The Sharks were only down one, 15-14, after the first quarter but scored only 13 in the second quarter, failing to match the intensity of the hometown Knights.

Cebu City came alive after the halftime break, pouring in 21 third quarter points while limiting the San Juan’s scoring production to 12 to cut the deficit to seven, 55-48, going to the final quarter.

The Knights scored 16 and contained the Sharks to 14 points in the final quarter to pull of the nine-point win and snap Sharks’ four-game winning streak. (RSC)
