TWELVE-YEAR-OLD Alexi "Apple" Cabayaran of Barangay Mambulac in Silay City recently signed as the new ambassadress of the Finis Philippines.

This happened after the sports outfit gained interest on the exemplary performance of the multi-titled 6th Grader Palarong Pambansa swimmer, who, at her age, is already qualified to compete in the Southeast Asian Games Age Group competitions.

At the age of 9, Cabayaran already saw action and won medals in the Palaro and several age-group competitions.

Lately, Cabayaran won gold medals in nine events during the 4th Don Generoso Villanueva Sr. Age Group Swim Invitational Championship staged at the Sta. Fe Resort.

She also dominated the last Milo swimming competition by winning gold medals in nine events and shattering Milo records in 400m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle and, 100m butterfly.

“I felt very happy being chosen to be part of Finis. I’m more determined to work harder to reach my dream and become a national swimmer and represent the country,” said Cabayaran, who is under the watch of veteran mentor Edmon Chua. (HGD)
