Search and retrieval continue in Natonin

AFTER the termination of the massive search and rescue operations by the members of the Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) on November 9, volunteers from barangays Tonglayan, Alunoga/Pudo, Poblacion, Sta. Isabel, and Banawel all in Natonin, Mountain Province will be joining the search and retrieval groups starting November 12 to 16.

Novy Afidchao, Mountain Province public information office said the volunteer groups will be focusing in two sectors.

The sectors include the one kilometer distance from ground zero (sector2) and the two kilometer distance from ground zero (sector 3).

As of November 12, at least eight remain missing. A left leg was also recovered at sector 3 at 12:10 p.m. on November 11.

Based on the standard operating procedures, unidentified cadavers are counted as retrieved but not reflected in the list of missing persons until identified and confirmed, while body parts are not counted as one (body).

A total of three unidentified cadavers have been retrieved, two of which were brought at the Carbonel Funeral Parlor Service in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.

Relative to this, Mayor Mateo Chiyawan will be coordinating with the municipal mayor of Alfonso Lista for the temporary tomb of the two cadavers.
