PRO-Davao Region gets new computers

A TOTAL of 59 brand new computers from the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters were turned over to Police Regional Office PRO Davao Region on Monday, November 12, which was intended for the electronic blotter or e-blotter system to speed up recording of complaints.

PRO Davao Region spokesperson Police Chief Inspector (PCI) Jason Baria said these computers will be distributed to different police stations in the region.

There are a total of 60 police stations under PRO-Davao Region and only San Isidro, Davao del Norte did not receive one since they have a low crime rate based on the data of the Regional Investigation Detection Management Division (RIDMD).

Through the e–blotter for the Crime Incident Reporting and Analysis System (Ciras) and Geographic Information System (GIS) for crime mapping, it will give real-time crime data and will promote data integrity as it will prevent tampering or manipulating of documents.

“It is now centralized tapos automatic mag-reading for crime statistic at crime mapping para sa GIS,” he said. Since it is centralized, it will now be accessible to all police stations nationwide.

Complaints lodged in police stations were usually written manually but with the e-blotter system, it will be encoded linked to central reporting network of the PNP which is the Ciras.
