Kin of 3 slain men to seek help from CHR

RELATIVES of the three men killed and dumped on a cliff in Maligbog, Bukidnon are set to seek help from the Commission on Human Rights (CHR)-Northern Mindanao this week, as they insist that some members of the Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, town police have a hand in the killing.

Janet Viemen, grandmother of one of the victims, said they will bring the case to the CHR to obtain justice for the shooting deaths of Vincent Viemen, Clifford Abales and Don Remar Andales.

The victims' families claimed that the three were summary killed in what seems to be a vigilante-style killing, an allegation that police officials denied.

Their coffins were displayed outside the Tagoloan town police station shortly before they were laid to rest over the weekend.

The victims were last seen at the police station after they were allegedly invited for questioning last November 4, and found dead two days after.

"Pila ba diay kabuok pultahan sa police station nga wala man mi kakita nga nigawas ang tulo human sila gi-interrogate sa police station. Naghulat mi sa gawas sa police station hangtod ala una sa kadlawon ug giingnan lang dayon mi nga gipapauli na nila," the victims' kin said.

They also insist that the victims do not have criminal records.

“Hustisya ang among gipangayo karon,” they added.
