CSF Mayor: Sports unite young Fernandinos

“SPORTS unite people. Sports unite young Fernandinos.”

Thus said Mayor Edwin Santiago during the opening ceremony of the CSF-EdSa Inter-Collegiate and Senior High School Games 2018 at Colegio de Sebastian on Friday.

According to Santiago, the activity aims to impart to student athletes the importance of having better physical health and understanding of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

For his part, Vice-Mayor Jimmy Lazatin said that young Fernandino athletes have to accept defeat and celebrate victory.

Hundreds of Fernandino student athletes from 10 schools participated in the event, which featured basketball, volleyball, dance competition, and presentation of muses.

The participating schools were AMA Computer College, Central Luzon College of Science and Technology (Celtech), City College of San Fernando, Colegio de Sebastian, Northville High School, Our Lady of Fatima University, Pampanga High School, St. Nicolas College of Business and Technology, Systems Plus College Foundation, and University of the Assumption (UA).

Cyril Reign Nulud of St. Nicolas College of Business and Technology and AJ Morris Garcia of UA were respectively named as best muses for the senior high school and college categories.

Meanwhile, in the dance competition, the Celtech team was crowned champion for the senior high school category while the St. Nicolas College of Business and Technology team was proclaimed winner in the college category.

Also present in the event were City Councilor Ato Agustin, Colegio de Sebastian Marketing Manager Brenda Arlene Dizon, Felino Sawal of the City Schools Division, and sports coordinators and coaches from the participating schools.

The tournament will culminate on December 15, 2018.
