Cimatu orders major revamp of Central Luzon environment officers

ENVIRONMENT Secretary Roy Cimatu had recently ordered the major revamp of officers of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) officers in Central Luzon.

The revamp was effected on the officers of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENRO) and the Community Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO) by virtue of Special Order No. 2018-875 dated October 16, 2018.

According to the DENR Central Luzon, the revamp was “to further strengthen the enforcement of environmental laws and the implementation of priority programs in the region.”

Also, Cimatu would like to have the officers render only a tour of duty of only three years at each assignment.

“Ordered reshuffled is CENRO Capas Alfredo Collado as PENRO of Aurora. He replaced Atty. Ricardo Lazaro, who retired from the government service on September 23, 2018. Tarlac PENRO Emelita Lingat was reassigned to Bulacan while Bulacan PENRO Celia Esteban was transferred to Tarlac,” DENR Central Luzon said.

The DENR Central Luzon added that Merliza Torre was assigned as OIC, CENRO Casiguran in Aurora while Rolly Mulato as OIC, CENRO of Guiguinto, Bulacan. On the other hand, Roger Encarnacion is now the CENRO of Olongapo City while Marife Castillo is the new CENRO of Dinalupihan in Bataan. Gerundio Fernandez was transferred to CENRO Capas in Tarlac and Mariano Lagartera was assigned as OIC, CENRO of Camiling.

Paquito Moreno, Jr., executive director of DENR in Central Luzon, together with deputy director for Management Services, Tirso Parian, Jr., and deputy director for Technical Services, Arthur Salazar, installed and turned-over the different field officials to their new assignment, according to the DENR.
