CDC, Smart to offer free WiFi in Clark

CLARK Development Corporation (CDC), in partnership with PLDT/Smart, is set to offer free public Wireless-Fidelity (WiFi) network in the Clark Freeport.

Through a memorandum of agreement between CDC and PLDT/Smart, free public Wi-Fi connection will be made available in the Clark Parade Grounds and other nearby areas including One-Stop-Shop, Clark Polytechnic, and Bus/Jeep Terminal, to make connectivity and communications even better in this Freeport.

CDC President Noel Manankil said that the project is part of the primary programs of CDC on its mission to provide better and quality services to its constituents.

“Creating seamless and connected environment in Clark has always been our aim to better serve our stakeholders,” he said.

Manankil added that the installation of the free WiFi will not only complement the developments at the Freeport but it is also seen beneficial in obtaining its objectives.

“The free public WiFi augurs well towards attaining that objective where employees, residents, job applicants, tourists and many others would benefit," Manankil said.

Recently, PLDT/Smart also launched the country’s first 5G network at the Freeport, making it the first 5G City in the country.

The launching of the new network is seen to make infrastructure inside the Freeport more reliable and technology-focused.

The latest wireless telecommunication platform is also expected to benefit not just the businesses here but also other industries in the country. (Reynaldo G. Navales)
