IT WAS none other than Compostela Valley Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy who relayed the good news to Comvalenyos through his Facebook account that the province was among the top ten richest province in the country in 2017, landing in the second spot.

Compostela Valley was not even included in the list of the Commission on Audit's provinces with the highest number of assets in 2016.

In fact, in a text interview with Fe Maestre, Comval information officer, she said the province has not been included in the list of highest number of assets in previous years.

"We are extremely delighted about the news. This recognition speaks volume of the efficiency of the Provincial Government in keeping its resources; resources that will be used to deliver social services and finish infrastructures swiftly and efficiently," Uy posted on his FB account.

The province accumulated a total of P18.95 billion worth of assets in 2017, just next to Cebu's assets of P34.14 billion.

"This means that we have improved capacities to respond to the demands of our constituency," Uy added.

He added that recognitions such as this will give the province strong fundamentals which can help the Comvalenyos achieve their desire to fully develop Compostela Valley.

The good news for Comval did not end there as Uy also revealed that the province was also recognized as the second most competitive province in the region.

"We are very pleased with this distinction. This cements our place as a viable business and investment destination in Mindanao," he said in the same FB post.

The recognition was given by the Department of Industry.

"Our province is doing well because of its highly competent government workforce, strong-willed political leaders and a collaborative private sector," the young governor added.
