Mondo, Powerfloor, Liquid-Tile win in Davies Cup opener

MONDO, Powerfloor and Liquid-Tile win their opening games in the Architect+Engineers Basketball Club Davies Paints Cup 2018 on Saturday, Nov. 10, at the University of San Carlos (USC) Main Campus Gym.

Mondo squeaked past Sun & Rain, 67-64.

Bong Gabison was all around the floor, both offensively and defensively, with 12 points, eight rebounds, six assists, four steals and a block. Justin Aspacio led the team in scoring with 15 and Jonas Panerio added 14.

Japoy Acebedo logged a triple-double for Sun & Rain with 13 markers, 14 boards, 10 dimes, four steals and a block. Chester Hinagdanan scored 22.

Powerfloor was also in a close match with Megacryl and walked away with a 64-60 victory.

Jose Pono put up 20 points, seven rebounds, while Ayi Armenion chipped in 13 points, eight rebounds and two blocks for Powerfloor.

Neilfred Bacus scored a game-high 22 markers along with seven rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks for Megacryl. Michael Estrada added 21 points and 12 boards.

Liquid-Tile beat Bio-Fresh, 84-74.

Michael Cinco exploded with 28 points. He also grabbed seven rebounds, and had a steal and a block. Ralph Catugas also had equally impressive performance with 26 points, five rebounds, three assists, four steals and a block. Chris Manal led Bio-Fresh with 20 points. (EKA)
