ONE hundred and 45 teams signed up for the 7th SunStar Football Cup at the Cebu City Sports Center on Nov. 24 and 25. The seventh edition of the annual tournament will have 12 divisions this year with the inclusion of the professionals men’s and women’s categories.
The rest of the categories are the Players 6, 8 and 10, Boys 12 and Boys and Girls 14, 16 and 18.
Powerhouse Don Bosco Technological Center, which won six titles last year, is back at full strength with 28 teams this year, while St. Theresa’s College, which won two divisions last year, will also defend its girls titles.
The Players 10 division has the most number of teams at 23 entries with DBTC FC fielding three, and the University of San Carlos-Basic Education Department fielding and Paref-Springdale and St. Benedict CHildhood Education Center fielding two teams each.
The Players 8 division and the Boys 16 division have 19 entries each, while the Boys 12 and 14 division have 17 entries each. (ML)
