A KAPAMPANGAN designer brought pride to the province after winning two gold medals in the recent TernoCon 2018 held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Marlon Tuazon, famous for his well-designed dresses and gowns, represented his home city, Angeles, in the said competition which was participated in by some 30 Filipino designers from all over the country.

Tuazon bagged the gold medals in the Balintawak Category, which showcases the country version of the terno that is shorter and comes with a panuelo or alampay, and in the Formal Category, wherein various classic long ternos that do not come with an alampay were in competition.

The TernoCon 2018 is a terno-making convention and competition for regional designers. It showcases different classic and modern designs of terno which is considered the national dress of the Philippines.

The event was organized by artists Mark Lewis Higgins and Gino Gonzales to foster appreciation, as well as promote the native dress not only among Filipinos but also internationally.
