Negros Occidental releases bonuses on November 15

EMPLOYEES of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental will start receiving their bonuses in November after the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) announced that government offices may start the distribution of their year-end bonuses and cash gifts for their employees on November 15.

Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said employees of the Provincial Government will automatically receive their 14th-month bonus, which is equivalent to a one-month worth of salary.

Aside from the bonus, each employee may also receive a cash gift of P5,000 as part of the directive coming from the national government.

"The 13th-month pay was already released between May and June," Gelvolea said.

She explained that the release should take place. However, Gelvolea said, the Provincial Government's payroll has yet to make their rounds.

She further explained the 14th-month bonus can only be released once the employees process their regular monthly payroll.

The release of other bonuses will depend on the decision of the governor, depending on the recommendation of the budget officer.

So far, she said, the governor has no word yet about the extra bonus which is usually given every December and January of the succeeding year.
