TANYAG nga kasulbaran sa problema sa trapiko sa Sugbo mao ang rason sa kadaugan sa representante sa Central Visayas sa 2018 National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO) ug sa Intergrated Seafarers of the Philippines (ISP) business plan competition.
Ang Metro Cebu Express: A Water Bus Liner Service, mao ang start-up business idea ni Dr. Nelson Mejia Jr., nga taga Lagtang, Talisay City, kinsa nibutyag nga siya mismo nakita nga bisan sa dili rush hour, lisod ang sakay sa Sugbo.
Gikan sa siyam ka finalists, si Mejia mao ang kampyonato sa nasod sa iyang tanyag mga negosyo aron masulbad ang problema sa trapiko sa Sugbo.
“I wanted them (panel of judges) to realize in the process the potential and viability of my business proposal in reducing the burden of the ordinary commuters, who struggle to get a ride to and fro, in the midst of the worsening traffic conditions in Cebu,” si Mejia nagkanayon.
Sa tanyag ni Mejia, usa ka water vessel nga mobiyahe sa Pier 3 paingon sa South Poblacion sa lungsod sa San Fernando ug pabalik ang biyahe sa maong water bus.
“I even highlighted in my video the non-peak hours from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. when it is safe to assume that traffic condition during these hours is light and manageable. But it turned out that getting a ride even during what is considered non-rush hour is still very inconvenient and tough,” dason niya.
Ang 27-anyos kinsa nigradwar sa iyahang Doctor of Philosophy Major in Maritime Affairs sa Atlantic International University sa Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, nakadawat og P500,000 isip ganti sa iyahang business plan.
“During the awarding ceremony, mura ko ug atakihon. Huot akong dughan kay gikuyawan ko ug maayo. But when I was announced as the grand prize winner, I knew then that this business idea will have a long way to go especially for the community that will benefit from it,”matod ni Mejia.
Si Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 7 Regional Director Atty. Johnson Cañete mihangop usab sa kadaugan ni Mejia kinsa mihulagway nga praktikal ug timely ang maong business proposal.
Ang NRCO-ISP Business Plan Competition usa sa venue nga gihatag sa DOLE sa mga seafarers, active o dili, nga mamahimong possible ang ilang damgo nga negosyo lakip na nga makatabang kini sa komunidad. HBL
