58th IB recognizes Bambi for supporting military

AN ARMY battalion operating in the province has accorded Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano a plaque of recognition for his unending support to the military's fight against terrorism and insurgency.

The army's 58th Infantry Battalion handed the plaque to the governor during its 33rd anniversary at their headquarters in Claveria town.

The military said the award was a recognition of Emano's dedication and support to the battalion to ensure security, peace and order are maintained.

Top officials of the 4th Infantry Division (4ID), 403rd Infantry Brigade, anti-narcotics agency in Northern Mindanao, and officials of Gingoog City and Phividec Industrial Estate graced the celebration.

58IB commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Roy Anthony Derilo said the governor has played a big role in the success of the activities of the battalion, especially in bringing development to the hinterland communities.

"Dako mi og accomplishment. I never expected mabuhat namo to nga butang, mga targets namo especially sa mga community support programs. Kung wala ang support sa local government unit, I couldn't have accomplish those. The governor is very instrumental who back me up," Derilo said.

"Gitan-aw namo siya sa iyang pangandoy, kami pud ginatan-aw niya. Na feel namo nga ginatan-aw niya ang kaayuhan namo. We are very inspired with our governor," he added.

Emano said the efforts of the capitol to back the military will never stop to ensure residents, local and foreign tourists in the province are safe and protected.

"Labaw nga pasalamatan nato ang kasundaluhan tungod sa padayong natagamtaman nga kalinaw sa kabukiran ug sa tibuok lalawigan," Emano said.
