Shabu worth P7-million hauled in 2 days

ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives seized more than P7 million worth of illegal drugs and caught 11 persons in separate operations in the cities of Cebu, Danao, Lapu-Lapu and Talisay in the past two days.

The biggest haul happened in Sitio Tiera Cura, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City, after the operatives of the Waterfront Police Station seized 380 grams of “shabu” worth P4.4 million.

Arrested at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, were taxi driver Ruel Salvaña Paalam, 52, and Matteo Archer Ochea, 30.

The illegal activity of the suspects was reported first to the textlines of “Itug-an ni CD (Tell it to City Director),” an anti-criminality program of Cebu City Police Office Director Royina Garma.

In other operations in Cebu City, more than P2 million worth of shabu were seized from John Martin Rublica Inso, 20, and Nicolas Boron Maranga Jr., 42.

Inso was arrested at 6 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in Barangay Basak Pardo, while Maranga was caught in Barangay Pasil at 2:45 a.m. on the same day. Fifteen minutes later, Jeremy Paseo Ebo was caught with his alleged cohorts Mylene Tolibas and Henry Olinares in Barangay Sambag 1.

Other police units arrested Marmelit Balansag Obrero, 40, in Barangay Tangke, Talisay City; Agustin Pasaol Alerta, 22, in Barangay Guinsay, Danao City; and Emelio Severos Dela Cruz and Sheina Rebamonte Ungon in Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City. Suspects yielded 8.88 grams of “shabu” worth P104,784.

Complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspects. Selling illegal drugs is a non-bailable offense.
