Dancesports basic coaching course opens

THE three-day Dancesport Officiating and Basic Coaching Course Level 1 opens Friday, November 16, at the Davao Doctors College (DDC) Gym, Davao City.

This was bared by Davao Regional Dancesport Council-Professional Division president Lilli Arellano during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at The Annex of SM City Davao Thursday, November 15.

She said they target 100 participants including coaches and Mapeh teachers.

"They will be taught technical rules based on international standards during the course. There will also be an examination and they will have practical exam during the inter-school dancesports competition tomorrow (Saturday)," she said, adding that passers will be issued a national license that will make them eligible to adjudicate or become a technical official in dancesports competition.

The Dancesports Council of the Philippines, Inc.-Professional Division initiated the accreditation course to encourage the dancesports enthusiats from the Department of Education and the community to take part.

Deped national tournament manager Ana Dulce Yango, licensed DSCPI-PD member, lecturer and coach, is resource speaker.
