Golez to launch ‘disaster-management’ book

FORMER Presidential Deputy spokesman and National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) Administrator Dr. Anthony Golez will be launching his book about disaster management in Bacolod City on February 17.

The book is entitled “Family Survival: A Guide to Family Safety during Disasters.”

At least 3,000 copies will be distributed for free in schools, disaster officers, and other institutions.

“The other disaster management book, they all came from Amercian Red Cross and since we don’t have Filipino-based disaster management book, so I came up with this one,” said Golez who was once an awardee as Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Philippines.

The book was written in 2007 in English with a Tagalog translation.

It was already launched in Metro Manila and available at the National Bookstore.

“I have never launched the book in Bacolod or elsewhere outside Metro Manila. I’ll give it for free. I’ll go around the universities and give a short lecture about the book”, Golez added.

Golez who is aspiring for congressman in the lone district of Bacolod, said he came up with the book to help everyone in case of emergencies and disaster.

“And, it is such a pity that reasons for their death are preventable but the problem is, they don’t know what to do before and during the disaster,” he said.

The 144-page book contains facts about some natural calamities and what to do in case they happen. It also includes how to apply first aid and diseases that created havoc in some other parts of the world. (TED)
