Tay Tung, STI-WNU, UNO-R rule Nopsscea chess tilt

THE Bacolod Tay Tung High School, STI-West Negros University (WNU) and the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos came out with huge performances to claim the titles in the elementary, secondary and tertiary levels of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association Season 38 chess tournament held over the weekend at the STI-WNU covered court.

Tay Tung tallied 20 points after seven rounds to rule the elementary boy's division as Jack and Jill School-Homesite settled for second place with 19.5 points followed by Trinity Christian School (19 points), Elliakim Learning Center (18 points) and Nazareth Institute (15.5 points).

Tay Tung also dominated the elementary girl's category after scoring 24 points followed by JJS-H (17.5 points), STI-WNU (16.5 points), Bacolod Christian College of Negros (15 points), and Tangub Christian Academy (15 points).

For the secondary boys, STI-WNU tallied 23 points to win the division crown as Tay Tung finished second with 20.5 points followed by University of St. La Salle (19 points), UNO-R (16 points) and La Consolacion-Bacolod (15 points).

STI-WNU, likewise, rule the girl's division with a comfortable 25 points as Tay Tung ended second with 21.5 points followed by USLS (17.5 points), Maranatha Christian College (17.5 points), and St. Joseph School-La Salle (16 points).

In the tertiary level, UNO-R emerged champions in both men and women's divisions followed by STI-WNU and USLS.
