THE court has set the arraignment of Taipan Development Incorporated, which owns the Gaisano Capital Group, for December 13.

The company is charged with violation of the National Building Code of the Philippines for building a mall in Mintal, Davao City without the necessary permits.

The case was filed on July 12, 2017, a month after a complaint for violation of Davao City's Zoning Ordinance was filed against the developer.

The mall is located in a residential area and a water resource zone in Catalunan Pequeño.

The City Engineers’ Office (CEO) filed the case after the company failed to secure a building permit as stated by its inspection reports issued on June 29, 2016, or a month after the construction of the company's Gaisano Capital Mall.

The CEO also sent the company two notices of violation and work stoppage order on June 30 and August 11, 2016.
