Bacolod awaits DBM guidelines for release of CNA bonus

THE City Government of Bacolod is waiting for the release of guidelines from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for additional cash incentives of the city employees or the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) bonus in December.

Councilor Caesar Distrito, chairperson of the City Council committee on appropriation and finance, said on November 16 that they are now preparing for the additional bonus if the DBM will issue the corresponding guidelines on the CNA bonus.

He said on November 15, the city already started releasing the year-end bonus of the employees, which is equivalent to their one-month basic salary, and P5,000 cash gift.

He added in June, the city employees, both regular and plantilla casuals, also received their 13th month pay.

Distrito recalled that last year, the city released P25,000 CNA bonus for the city employees.

DBM’s Budget Circular No. 2017-3 stated that the CNA bonus is only limited to be at most P25,000.

“The giving of bonus is dependent on the DBM’s guidelines. Once there is a legal basis the city will release the CNA bonus,” Distrito said.

He said they expect that the DBM will release the guidelines by the first week of December so that it will be clearer how much will be released to the employees, but Mayor Evelio Leonardia will also announce the final amount once there will be a guideline.(MAP)
