Estremera: The dark side

YOU only have to see the comments section of just about anything on the Internet to know, there will always be many who see only the negative.

Even the most positive article or video or photo worth a notice will get its share.

We encounter them even in our everyday life.

Irritating is but too tame a word, especially when it's an everyday thing for an individual. Even infuriating... Until you remind yourself that the person is doing greater damage to his or her self than those he or she encounters.

Pity the person because his views are but a reflection of how he sees the world, and it's not a perspective we want to have in our own life.

Those who look for someone to blame instead of seeing a solution to a problem fans animosity within. Those who are always suspecting people around him of untrustworthiness live everyday believing that someone is out there to dupe him or run away with something he owns cannot even afford to enjoy a day without worries.

But then, just thinking about it, we are responsible for all our own experiences 100 percent. No one else can own how we see, feel, think or believe what we see.

Even your most intimate friend may say a painting is hideous, but you are not obliged to agree if for you, it's not hideous at all.

To each his own, and no one can force you to see the world as they see it, unless you decide to.

To give that up to anyone else is such a pity.

Own your life, your perception, your day. My life, my perception, my day.
