YOU will fall in love with SM City Davao’s Christmas decor this year. The “Ice Wonderland” theme exudes a very chill vibe (as in wintry, and cool) with its centerpiece, a 28-foot icy blue Christmas tree in a snowy backdrop and the four huggable polar bears (thank God it’s 3D this time).

Completing the winter wonderland-ish set-up is the 250-square meter ice skating rink, which is back after its successful debut last year.

Both kids and adults will be thrilled to have their holiday photos and selfies with the tree as the background or gliding on ice. It will make a good profile picture to share on social media.

It’s a successful — and adorable! — decoration for this mall.

Meanwhile, its sister mall SM Lanang Premier at the north of the city also lit up its towering Christmas tree. The mall stuck to the traditional decors but made sure it delivered the messages of the season to their patrons. The words give, love, peace and joy — all brightly lit up, adorn the giant tree from every angle. The same words – huge and glowing this time, are spotlighted around the tree’s base. What’s your Christmas word of choice?

Oh, Santa was there during the lighting.

Yearly, the SM malls hold a fundraising program to support its identified charities. The “Bears of Joy” program was also launched along with the tree lighting. For P200, a shopper gets 2 bears — one to keep and another to donate.
