SSEAYP delegates in Davao today

SIXTEEN Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) participants will be in Davao City Sunday, November 18.

“This is the first time nga muabot sila dinhi and it signals the trust of the Japanese government in Davao City,” Steve Arquiza, former National Youth commissioner, said during the Kapehan sa Dabaw press conference on Monday, November 12.

Arquiza added that the Japanese government trusts the city because of its security and law and order.

“We are very happy na natubag gyud ang atoang appeal to them that we want to showcase Davao City to Asean in Japan (We are very happy that our appeal to showcase Davao City to Asean in Japan was answered)” Arquiza added.

The delegates will be welcomed at the Marco Polo Hotel hosted by City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. They will visit then the Central 911 Emergency Response, which showcases the security features of the city; after which they will head to the first chocolate museum in the Philippines at Malagos Garden Resort.

In the evening, the delegates will be at the Amiya Resort for a fellowship night and to bond with the alumni of the program.

SSEAYP is 53-day program which was based on the joint statement issued in January 1974 between Japan and Asean countries. (RJC)
