2 fugitive Kuratong men arrested

TWO cousins, allegedly members of the Kuratong Baleleng group, were arrested by the Regional Special Operations Group 7 through a warrant of arrest issued by judge Roy Murallon of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 35 of Cagayan de Oro City for a case of murder.

They were identified as Jacinto Obagan, 29, and Richard Obagan, 48, both from Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental.

They were allegedly responsible for the killing of a barangay kagawad identified only as “Konsehal Salvador” of Malaubang, Ozamis City.

Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 Director Debold Sinas said the suspects were arrested in Villa Lucila, Barangay Poblacion, Liloan town at past 4 p.m. last Friday, Nov. 16.

The PRO 7 received information that the two suspects belong to the group of Ozamis City Councilor Ricardo “Ardot” Parojinog, the younger brother of the late Ozamis City Mayor Reynaldo “Aldong” Parojinog, whom President Duterte tagged as involved in the illegal drug trade. The mayor was killed in a drug raid, while the councilor was arrested in Taiwan over the use of illegal documents in July this year.

Months earlier, the police in the cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu arrested alleged members of the Kuratong Baleleng group that were reportedly guns for hire and were involved in the illegal drug trade.

Sinas said they will also include the police in Ozamis City in their investigation. (From AYB of Superbalita Cebu)
