Was it love that shot dead a nurse on her birthday?

TWO died in separate shooting incidents in Cebu City last Saturday, Nov. 17.

Cristina Jayson, 25, a nurse who worked in a medical company at the IT Park, was celebrating her birthday when an unknown assailant shot her dead.

The Emergency Medical Services immediately responded, but Jayson was fatally hit in the head and was declared dead on the spot.

Talamban Police Chief Alvin Llamedo said they already have persons of interest.

One of them is the victim’s former boyfriend who the former broke up with months earlier. The police found text messages in the victim’s mobile phone indicating that she broke up with her former live-in partner.

The police, who suspects this is a case of a love triangle, will call the former lover and his current partner to get their statements.

“Love triangle atung duda kay prior sa insidente naay nakit-an nga tawo nga naghilak sa gawas sa ilang balay nga nagmotor. Basin mao to (We suspect it’s a love triangle since prior to the incident, witnesses saw a person on a motorcycle crying outside the victim’s house),” said Llamedo.

Meanwhile, in Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Pasil, Cebu City, a Marcial Rezaba, 39, was shot dead by an unknown gunman past 7 p.m. on Macopa St., Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City while he was on board a jeepney.

Mambaling Police Station Chief Randy Caballes said they are looking at personal motives, although they have not yet identified any suspect.

Caballes said the suspect really made sure to finish off Rezaba as the victim was shot at gunpoint.

“Wala pa gyud tay suspek kay sa mga kauban niya nga nagsakay sa jeep wala may nakakita sa nawong (We don’t have any suspect since the other passengers weren’t able to see the suspect’s face),” said Caballes. (From AYB Of Superbalita Cebu)
