THE Provincial Peace and Order Council of Agusan del Norte has awarded 38 rebel returnees benefits under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

The 38 former rebels each received given P65,000 as livelihood assistance. They were also given remuneration for the firearms that they turned over, depending on the kind of firearm.

Aside from livelihood assistance and firearms remuneration, they were also given free skills training by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Livelihood Program.

Other interventions include Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) enrolment, housing, legal assistance and other social intervention.

E-CLIP seeks to contribute towards achieving permanent and peaceful closure of all armed conflicts with non-state groups as well as facilitate the mainstreaming of former rebels to the society.
