MAYOR Crisostomo C. Garbo, in his usual candid style, intimated to me that people of Mabalacat should reflect on the current improvements in the method of governance in the city.
People should notice and appreciate the various improvements and innovations introduced by the new city mayor and think of ways of helping him govern effectively instead of just grumbling for no valid reason at all.
In all these unsettling situations, he says, he calls on the Almighty to help him decide judiciously so that matters can be settled wisely and fairly.
He then proceeded to narrate how weak the system was during the previous administration about fiscal balance and the proper use of public funds.
Today, he claims, everything is above board and he and his team (Atty. Rigor, Atty. Ignacio, Rosan S. Paquia, Fiel Sacay et al) regularly meet to thresh out the problems confronting them like the adamant gesture of the chair of local finance of the Sangguniang Panlungsod on passing upon the request for supplemental budgets for important projects and needs.

In defense of Atty. Ignacio who was branded as holding too many positions, Mayor Cris defended him by saying that it is his prerogative to assign duties which he thinks Atty. Ignacio can handle well and satisfactorily.
Aside from being the City Legal Officer, Atty. Ignacio looks over personnel
files and handles the CIO.
Atty. Rigor, for her part, has acclimatized well on her duties as the City Accountant, Her zeal to rectify previous administration's errors and lapses has been consistent and contributes immensely to the smooth operations of the city government. Of course, there are still negative comments from non-believers, though this is part and parcel of the task.

It is an open book as far as Rosan S. Paquia is concerned, he also handless various jobs and is an effective multi-tasker as he chairs even the Bids and Awards Committee aside from his being head of the CPDC and is concurrent City Administrator. Overall, the designation fits him right and I can see that the man is devoted to his work which he handles with passion and compassion.

Sportsfest on November 16, 2018. The city government of Mabalacat holds basketball and volleyball tournaments as part of its traditional sports activities. Zumba, for those who aim to have near perfect figures and healthy bodies, is also being conducted.
