THE suspect behind the brutal slay of the mother of the administrator of the local government unit of Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur was arrested during an operation by authorities on November 16.

It has been less than a week since the killing of the mother of lawyer Romulus Tancontian, municipal administrator of Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.

Martina Gamus Tancontian, 68, was stabbed dead on November 11. Her body was found in the kitchen of her home at around 7:30 a.m. on Monday.

Authorities are looking at robbery as motive of the brutal crime. The suspect, Aqua, was the victim’s caretaker.

"With less than a week of continuous probe, in-depth investigation and relentless hot pursuit operation, this case is considered solved," Morales said.

It can be recalled that Nelson "Tata" Sala, Sta. Cruz municipal councilor, offered a P500,000 award to the person who could come forward and provide leads on the suspect. He is now under the custody of Sta. Cruz Police Station.

"This accomplishment proves that indeed your police is exerting all efforts to immediately solve cases and put behind the bars of justice all who are responsible for this lawlessness," Morales said.
