JCI ExeRun helps rebuild ‘Kalipay’ home

JCI Bacolod Executive endorsed a cheque of P50, 000 to Kalipay Negrense Foundation Inc. to help rebuild one of its children’s home, Recovered Treasures.

The donation came from the proceed of the recently concluded “ExeRun 2018: Dalagan Para Sa Batang Negros.”

The JCI group collaborated with Kalipay organize a charity run as a celebration of the National Children’s Month.

More than 500 runners participated and showed support to the advocacy of protecting children’s rights.

JCI Bacolod Executive president Mhel Enderes Sillador said: “The ExeRun is not just your ordinary run because runners will not only be running with people they share their passion of running with but also they will be running with the children of Kalipay, the very reason why we have this running event.”

“Aside from raising funds, it is also the goal of the event to create a meaningful relationship between the runners and the children beneficiaries as symbolically it shows that the runners are with them in their journey of healing and finding their place in this world,” he added.

Several groups from different non-government offices (NGOs), running clubs, schools, and companies supported the first ever “Dalagan Para Sa Batang Negros.”

Project chair Stanley Tan said, “JCI Bacolod Executive commits itself to organize ExeRun every year to support the causes of disadvantaged children.”
