New Central Luzon police chief assumes office

THE Central Luzon Police Regional Office has a new chief.

Chief Superintendent Joel Napoleon Coronel assumed on Tuesday, November 20, as the new Central Luzon Police regional director, replacing Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus.

Corpus was assigned as the new chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) following the retirement of Police Director Roel Obusan.

Coronel is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Hinirang class of 1987.

He is the former second in command of the National Capital Region Police Office and director of Manila Police District.

“I would like to express my profound gratitude to our CPNP, PDG (Police Director General Oscar) Albayalde for the trust and confidence he has given me and with my gratitude I offer him my pledge that I shall do my utmost best to perform my duties, of course with the cooperation of every one, and I urged everyone to extend to me the same support you have extended to chief Superintendent Corpus so that together we will continue to keep PRO3 safe and peaceful at all times,” said Coronel.

Corpus also took office following a turnover ceremony in Camp Crame.

Corpus is a member of Sinag-Tala class of 1986 along with retired PNP chief Ronald Dela Rosa.

Corpus served 17 years of his career in Central Luzon and was provincial director of Tarlac Police Provincial Office in 2010 before he was assigned chief of PRO3 Deputy regional director for operation. (SunStar Philippines)
