Apayao SK chair, bystander hurt in stabbing

A SANGGUNIANG Kabataan chairman and another individual in Apayao province are now recovering in a hospital after they were stabbed by a still unidentified assailant Saturday evening, November 17.

The victims were identified as MC Kevin Afaga Lacar, 23, single, SK chairman; and Archer James Castillo, 26, single, student. Both are residents of Barangay San Antonio, Pudtol in Apayao.

Police said that at around 9 p.m. of November 17, the victims together with Edmar Pagdilao and Erick Bunnao attended a wedding in their barangay.

Lacar was leaning on an owner type jeep parked along the road when the assailant approached him and a heated argument ensued.

The assailant brought out a knife and stabbed Lacar and Castillo, who was standing nearby.

Barangay tanods brought the victims to Amma Jadsac District Hospital located in Poblacion, Pudtol while the assailant fled to a still unknown direction.

Lacar suffered a stab wound on his left abdomen while Castillo suffered a stab wound on his left chest.

Both victims were transferred to Far North General Hospital & Training Center in Luna, Apayao.

Personnel from the Pudtol Municipal Police Station are now conducting a follow–up investigation to identify their attacker.
